Terms of Service
Last updated: 3 October 2026
1. Introduction
These Terms of Service govern your use of the Velor Handmade platform (Velor Handmade is a trading name of Velor Commerce Limited, company number 17268133), registered office at 49 Station Road, Polegate, East Sussex, BN26 6EA. By accessing or using Velor, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
2. The Velor Platform
Velor is a multi-vendor marketplace that enables independent sellers to list and sell products to buyers. Velor acts as a platform intermediary and is not a party to transactions between Buyers and Sellers except where stated.
3. Accounts
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must not share your account with others or use another person's account.
4. Seller Obligations
Sellers must: (a) list only products they are authorised to sell; (b) provide accurate product descriptions and images; (c) fulfil orders promptly and in accordance with listed delivery estimates; (d) comply with all applicable laws including consumer protection, product safety, and tax legislation.
5. Buyer Protections
Buyers may request a return or refund if: (a) an item is significantly not as described; (b) an item is faulty or damaged; (c) an item is not delivered within the stated timeframe. Return requests must be submitted within 15 days of confirmed delivery via the order page. If you buy from a business seller, you also have the legal right to cancel within 14 days of receiving the item, for any reason, and get a refund (exceptions include items made to your specifications or clearly personalised). Private sellers aren't bound by that right. These time limits are part of Velor's own process and don't limit your legal rights: if you buy from a business seller, in the UK you can normally reject faulty goods for a full refund within 30 days of delivery, with further rights after that, and in the EU the legal guarantee normally covers faults that appear within two years of delivery. Import charges and refused parcels: for international orders, the destination country may charge import duties, taxes or carrier fees on delivery. These aren't included in the price unless checkout shows them (Velor only collects UK import VAT, on parcels of £135 or less). If you refuse delivery, or don't pay these charges, the carrier may return the parcel to the seller or dispose of it. If it's returned to the seller, we refund the item price once the seller confirms it's back, minus the original shipping and any return costs or charges the carrier bills. This doesn't affect your rights if the item is faulty, not as described, or doesn't arrive. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights.
6. Platform Fees
Velor charges a 10% commission on the item price plus shipping, with a minimum of £0.35 per order on each completed sale, the standard rate for all new sellers. There is no paid subscription to lower this rate. Founding sellers (the first verified seller from each country) instead keep a permanent "Founding Seller" badge and priority placement, granted free of charge, with no change to their commission rate. (A small number of sellers granted a lower rate before this policy took effect keep that previously-agreed rate; it is not available to new sellers.) This fee is deducted automatically at the time of payment via Stripe Connect. All fees are inclusive of any applicable taxes.
7. Prohibited Items
The following items may not be listed or sold on Velor: illegal goods or substances; counterfeit or trademark-infringing items; weapons, ammunition, or dangerous materials; adult content; items that violate any applicable law.
8. Intellectual Property
Sellers retain ownership of their product listings and images. By listing on Velor, Sellers grant Velor a non-exclusive licence to display their content on the platform. Velor's branding, design, and proprietary content are owned by Velor Commerce Ltd.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Velor's liability to you shall not exceed the greater of (a) the total fees paid by you to Velor in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) £100. Velor is not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by email. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
